Weapons are your main method for hunting down monsters. Whether you prefer ranged damage or getting up close and personal, you’re sure to find a Weapon that suits your style. Some Weapons, such as the Wolf Stick, even summon pets to hunt by your side!
Weapons are the main component of Gear Kits, and you can only equip 1. All weapons have a Main Attack, which can be used indefinitely and without cooldowns. Most weapons also have a Combo Attack, but some have other special abilities.
Combo Attacks are triggered by using the Main Attack a certain amount of times. This amount changes for each weapon, and you can see when it will be triggered with a blue bar under your player HP.
When the bar is filled, it starts blinking to show the Combo Attack is ready. After this, the next attack is a Combo Attack instead of a Main Attack.
DPS for nerds
Given that damage occurs in bursts, Damage Per Second (DPS) isn't actually a constant.
For example, this chart shows (in red) the real DPS of Monster Slugger over time. Each of the hits (in blue) creates a spike in the DPS.
In the long term, the DPS stabilises around a certain value, and that's the value that will be displayed for each weapon.
Level Standard
In order to compare the damage of different weapons, we have chosen to use Level 30 for consistency. This is the level at which most of the Versus (PvP) maps are unlocked as Chapter 1.
For now, it's unclear if this is the most relevant level or not, so we may change it in the future once the endgame is more clearly defined.

MAIN ATTACK
Swing your Bat to deal area damage in front of you at close range.
COMBO ATTACK
Every 4th attack is a BIG swing that does damage over a larger area and Slows all non-boss monsters.
