Battle Overlay

This tool is visible on the left side of the screen during battles, and displays information for each of the 2 selected players. Players and data categories are selected through the Control Panel, which should be managed exclusively by the production team.

This page provides basic information for the layout of each of the data categories available.

Basic Info

Overlay Sample Basic

This is the most basic screen, which shows:

  • (Player Name)
  • CRL results from previous years as badges
  • CRL 2025 results from previous seasons
  • Main deck of last season

Overlay Info Basic

Details: Previous CRL results

These badges show the final rank of the player in each of the seasons. CCGS 2017 is also included because it was a major individual event analogous to CRL.

CRL badges display the rank of the final stage reached by the player. For example, if a player finished #2 in the points leaderboard and #8 in the World Finals, the #8 rank will be the displayed one.

Details: CRL 2025 Results

This section provides a performance summary of the previous seasons of CRL 2025. Each of the seasons displays:

  • Prize: earnings obtained
  • Rank: rank of the final stage reached by the player
  • MWR: Match Win Rate. Matches are full Duels, either Bo3 or Bo5.
  • BWR: Battle Win Rate. Battles are individual battles from each duel.

These stats include forfeit wins and losses.

Details: Main deck

This was the main deck used by the highest ranked account of this player.

  • Even if the player competes with a lower-ranked account, we display the deck of the best account.
  • We consider the "main deck" to be the deck with most wins during the end of the season. This may not be the same as the last used deck.

Player Earnings

Overlay Sample Earnings

This screen displays the player earnings obtained by the player in all the esports events validated by RoyaleAPI, and broken down by year.

  • Only individual earnings are included, no team events
  • All events are counted, not just CRL

The Earnings badge, on the left, shows the total amount of earnings by the player; meaning the aggregate of all the years.

Best Ranks

Overlay Sample Ranks

This screen displays the 10 highest ranks obtained by the player. This includes results from any of his associated accounts, even banned or hidden ones.

All monthly seasons from March 2017 until this day are included.

Top 10 results are sorted first by rank, and recency is the secondary criterion.

On the left, there are 2 additional badges:

  • Ladder Champion
  • Ladder History Rank

Ladder Champion simply shows the amount of times a player has finished #1.

Ladder History Rank is based on the exclusive leaderboard available for players who reach the top 10 of any ranked season.

Main Cards

Overlay Sample Cards

This screen displays the cards that were used the most by this player during the Qualifier Day 1 & Day 2 battles. Card stats from previous seasons are not considered.

This screen has 2 main sections:

  • Most Used Cards: 4 cards with highest usage

  • Most Used Cards in Battle 1: 4 cards with highest usage when considering only the first battle of each duel

The main sorting criterion is usage, and win rate is the second.

Players pick decks based on what has been used in previous battles of a duel. The 1st battle is the least constrained, as no cards have been removed for any of the 2 players.

Each of the cards has 2 stats below:

  • Use %: usage or use rate, relative to all the battles played

  • Win %: win rate of the card

Main Counters

Overlay Sample Counters

This screen is similar to the previous one, but focused on the cards used by opponents.

The other significant difference is that counters are mainly sorted by win rate, instead of usage, to showcase the most effective cards against the selected player.

Counter filter details

In order to avoid cards with 1-2 wins to be shown as the main counters, we first filter the 50 most used cards against this player.

After that filter, the counters are sorted by win rate and usage as tiebreaker.

The stats displayed in this screen mean:

  • Use %: usage against the player, relative to all the battles played

  • Win %: win rate of player against the counter. A 0% win rate means that the player has never won against this card.

Duels

Overlay Sample Duel

The duel screen has a flexible format that changes based on the amount of battles available.

The main elements are:

  • (Player Name)
  • [Optional] CRL badges
  • [Main] Duel decks
  • [Optional] Main cards left

Overlay Sample Duel

Duel decks are simply decks used in previous battles of the current duel.

Main cards left is a list of the most popular cards of the player (highest usage), but excluding those that have been used in the decks displayed above.

Results

Results screens have a full-screen design, and are used after battles conclude. They mainly provide a summary of the decks used within the duel, and have 3 variants to show additional information.

Overlay Results Basic 2B

The variants are for the following categories:

  • Evolutions
  • Spells
  • Win Conditions

Overlay Results Win Conditions 3B

In each of these, all the cards available are displayed in a grid under the player, in order of usage; this means the order is specific for each player. The first cards of the grid have been used the most, and the last ones the least.

Cards that have been used in battles of the duel are greyed out, to signal they are not available for additional battles.

The available cards section is not always visible, as the format adapts based on the amount of battles available:

  • 3 or less battles: everything is displayed

  • 4 battles: the card category label is hidden (e.g.: the "Available Evolutions" text label)

  • 5 battles: only 5 decks are displayed

This flexibility allows the available cards to be displayed when it may matter the most: after battle 4 of a Bo5.
